Dozens march in Oakland in solidarity with Baltimore

Protesters marched in Oakland for the second night in a row Tuesday in solidarity with demonstrations in Baltimore over the death of a black man who was fatally injured in police custody.

Though the group numbered in the dozens, protesters marched from Frank Ogawa Plaza to West Oakland BART station, briefly halting service as they chanted and clapped just before the fare gates.

The protesters were calling for justice for Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old man who died after his spine was severed in police custody this month.

Ruiz said she saw connections in the book and in speaking out against wrongdoing and police brutality today.
